It brings Clancy Brown and Dana Delany back to the animated DCU as the story's Lex Luthor (called Ruhtol – get it?) and Lois Lane respectively, and then puts a geeky cherry on top by having none other than Kevin Conroy voice the Batman of Planet Zur-En-Arr, a wonder world where a funhouse mirror version of the Caped Crusader protects the city of Gothtropolis from Ruhtol and his army of Fleischer-esque robots. The episode is just as much of a celebration of the Max Fleischer Superman cartoons and Superman: The Animated Series as it is an homage to the bizarre silver age Batman comics and Batman #113 in particular.
